T-shirt to shirt extender May 5, 2010

One of my thrift store finds was this really cute shirt.  It was too small for me, but at about 10c, the price was right!

First, I cut the shirt just below the armpit .  Then I sewd the fabric over, creating a hem.  This is quick and dirty.  I didn’t even hem it at first, and it works just fine because you can’t see the unhemmed part. UPDATE:  Okay, after wearing it this morning, the quick hem I did wasn’t enough to keep it from stretching out, and sliding.  I personally think that’s pretty hilarious, because this shirt is 3 sizes too small!

Look, its sexy!

No really, this is what it looks like without clashing.

I am not sure if  I like the look on me.   Maybe I’ll save it for if I get pregnant again.  The extender is great for nursing moms who don’t like to wear nursing shirts (I could NEVER find them in my size and the design options are limited), or those of us with big bellies or long abdomens, whose shirts ride up.

I have  seen this design around.  The first time was Bella Bands, but really, its not hard to make these.

I would LOVE to see your version!
